Doug has many years of professional therapy experience and training to work with individuals, couples and families. He enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and faiths. As a narrative therapist, Doug works collaboratively in drawing out people's unrecognized past stories of strength and resilience to help them overcome current problems. Doug is able to work with Spanish speaking clients.

Doug has a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Thomas University, is a Certified Narrative Therapist and is trained in EMDR through EMDRIA.
In addition to traditional insight-oriented talk therapy, Doug utilizes many current evidence-based approaches including narrative behavior therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, expressive arts therapy, Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, mindfulness and play therapy. Doug works with clients from older adults, adults, teens and children.
