“In the world through which I travel I am endlessly creating myself.”
- Franz Fanon -
Understanding ourselves and our behaviors is important to understanding our place in the world and how we desire to move through it. Janelle believes that therapy gives context to our lives, letting us move in new directions while being our most authentic selves. Janelle values a trusting and supportive relationship with her clients, and believes it is her role to help clients make connections between their maladaptive patterns and their family dynamics, romantic relationships, core-beliefs, or other life events.
For the last 7 years Janelle has been working with adolescents, young adults, and families in a variety of therapeutic modalities. She is trained in CBT, CBT-E, FBT and DBT. Janelle has a specific interest in working with eating disorders, and has worked with clients actively struggling with disordered eating behaviors in PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care. She is particularly passionate about working with college students, helping them navigate the stressors of academia and independent living. Janelle works from a client-centered and strength-based model, using talk therapy to help clients identify ways to decrease emotional distress.
Daytime, evening and weekend appointments are available and we accept most insurance.
